The following incidents were reported by the Albuquerque Police Department for the week of July 8-14 in the far northeast area between Elena Drive, Interstate 25, Paseo del Norte Boulevard, and Tramway Boulevard. There were 45 incidents reported by crimemapping.com for the week. The following 37 incidents do not include traffic stops, direct traffic, onsite traffic, or vehicle accidents without injuries. A recent poll on NextDoor asking residents what topics they want the Neighborhood Journal to report on in their neighborhoods indicate respondents in the far Northeast Heights are interested in seeing more crime coverage. Of the 24 respondents, 50% chose crime as the topic they want more news reporting on in their neighborhood.The next highest category chosen was neighborhood association news, followed by housing/business news, entertainment, traffic/road construction news, and then school news. A record high of $855.4 million was brought into the state’s economy during the 2022 fiscal year due to direct spending by the film, television and digital media production industry. A July 14 press release from the Office of the Governor says the spending is a 36% increase from fiscal year 2021 and a new record for New Mexico. In FY2021, the industry brought in $626.5 million, and in FY2020 the industry spent $292 million in the state. The press release highlights some of Gov. One of Albuquerque’s new electric buses is being used to transport passengers on Route No. 31 along Wyoming Boulevard. Route No. 31 runs between Alameda and Kirtland Air Force Base and can be used by personnel with appropriate military clearance to get to work on base. On June 16, ABQ Ride announced the unveiling of five new electric buses being added to the city’s fleet. The first 40-foot Proterra Catalyst E2 electric bus was announced in late January 2021. Class of 2023 Chargers Kellan Gehres and AJ Rivera, and Class of 2024 Charger Brody Whitaker were named National High School Coaches Association All Americans for the 2021-22 school year. The median sales price for single-family detached homes in the greater Albuquerque area decreased by $10,500 from May to June of this year. According to the Greater Albuquerque Area Association of REALTORS® market reports, the median sales price in May was $340,500 and $330,000 in June. “In June, the local market started seeing typical summer activity, school is out and there are more homes on the market resulting in lower prices,” GAAR President Bridget Gilbert said in a July 11 press release. “This is good news for home buyers as they will have more choices in their price range.” The…

Gas prices continue to go down throughout the city, and the far Northeast Heights is no exception. According to AAA data, the July 13 average price of regular unleaded fuel in Albuquerque was $4.31 a gallon, 18 cents less than last week’s average and 31 cents less than the week before. A year ago, the average was $3.10 a gallon. New Mexico’s average price of fuel for July 13 is $4.46, and the national average $4.63 a gallon.
