Phoenix police arrested Chase Cuffie, the suspect in a murder investigation in Albuquerque, Monday. Albuquerque Police Department detectives were searching for Cuffie, 39, who is accused of fatally shooting another man as he confronted his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint in Northwest Albuquerque Saturday. The Bosque School Drama and Technical Theater departments will be hosting workshops with members of the Hamilton Tour Company, D. Jerome and Eric Mayer, at  Bosque School Wednesday. A two-vehicle crash occurred on Coors Blvd. NW at Paseo Del Norte Blvd Sunday morning. Around 10:15 a.m., a black Lexus was stopped northbound on Coors Blvd at Paseo Del Norte in the left turn lane and was waiting to make a left turn westbound onto Paseo Del Norte. Albuquerque Police Department is launching targeted operations to enforce red light runners due to a recent increase in crashes throughout the city related to the traffic violation. APD’s Traffic Division pulled data to identify the top 20 intersections throughout the city that have the highest number of crashes due to drivers disregarding traffic signals. The Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is hosting a special event through the end of April to make sure the shelter is equipped to take care of the hundreds of kittens and puppies expected to be orphaned this summer. The shelter is holding a virtual kitten and puppy shower through April 30 in hopes of getting certain items donated to help the animals. Items that can be donated are listed on Amazon. Detectives with Albuquerque Police Department are searching for a Ford pickup truck that they think was involved in the homicide near Cottonwood Mall last week. A second Crime Stoppers alert was put out by APD Friday afternoon. A person on a motorcycle was shot and killed on March 18 near Alameda and Corrales Road NW. The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is holding an adoption event at the end of April. “Adopt an Artist Companion” will be April 29-30. AWD is searching for animal-loving artists to create artworks in association with the event. There is no fee to apply and any interested artist will be considered. Artists will use to paw prints of an adoptable dog or cat to create a unique piece of art. The art will be on exhibit and on sale in the shelter lobby during the adoption event. Cruz Medina, 16, who is in jail pending a murder trial for the death of Jada Gonzales at a party in Northwest Albuquerque in December, has been charged for a separate armed robbery that occurred a month before Gonzales’ death. The committee is planning to celebrate the landmark anniversary Sept-8-10 at a yet to be determined location.
