Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos released the name of the victim who was found shot to death outside the Marriott Pyramid on July 26. Gallegos said the victim is 51-year-old Louie Sedillo. “Detectives have not released any additional details about the ongoing investigation,” Gallegos wrote in an email. The Gun Violence Archive, citing KRQE and the Albuquerque Journal, states that the male victim was found dead in the bushes of the hotel parking lot but was possibly shot at another location. Albuquerque Academy took the top spot in the state for the 2021-22 MaxPreps Cup, scoring 1,389 points. Georgia was the top state, with 10 schools receiving 1,000 points or more. The MaxPreps Cup uses a formula to determine the best overall high school sports program in the nation, with points awarded on a weighted basis.
