School’s back in session, but that doesn’t mean the entertainment has stopped. Check out some of these events taking place around the far Northeast Heights over the weekend:

The thrills begin Friday, Aug. 12, at the North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center with senior arts and crafts from 1-2:30 p.m. The fun continues with family game night and family movie night from 6-8 p.m. This Friday’s game night theme is “Old School.” Call 505-764-6475 or stop by 7521 Carmel Ave. NE for more information.

    2. Country music artist Brad Paisley will be performing at the Sandia Resort & Casino amphitheater Friday, Aug. 12. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 8 p.m. For more information and to buy tickets, visit sandiacasino.com/event/brad-paisley.

    3. On Saturday, Aug. 13 the Cherry Hills Library will host another Master Gardeners session from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Unable to attend? Call the Master Gardner hotline at 505-292-7144 or visit abqmastergardeners.org to get answers to all your horticultural needs.

    4. Celebrate India Day at North Domingo Baca Park Saturday, Aug. 13 from 5 p.m. until the festivities are over. 5. Grass panels are available for RC model aircraft flyers, unpowered paragliders, quadcopters and drones at Balloon Fiesta Park from 6 a.m. to noon Sunday, Aug. 14. Check out the Albuquerque Soaring Association’s website for maps, details and more flying sites for RC and drone enthusiasts.

    Citywide events

    6. The Somos Unidos U-17 Cup continues through Sunday at First Financial Training Center, 5601 University Blvd. SE. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. each day with closing ceremonies at 12:40 p.m. Sunday. Participating teams include the Colorado Rapids, C.F. Monterrey Raids, Atlanta United and New Mexico United. For a full schedule of games or tickets, click here.

    7. Celebrate the weekend at the ABQ BioPark. Friday is World Elephant Day with keeper talks and discovery stations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s also the finale of the Zoo Music series from 6-8:30 p.m. featuring Flor de Toloache, a rescheduled performance from June 3. Tickets from the date will be valid for Friday’s event if they have not been used at a previous Zoo Music concert.

    8. Get your gloves on for a night of professional boxing at 7 p.m. Saturday.
