Southwest Aeronautics, Mathematics and Science Academy (SAMS) is getting a new home.
In February, contractors began construction on the charter school at the corner of Ventana Road NW and Irving Blvd. NW. SAMS will own the new building after occupying a city-owned building at 4100 Aerospace Pkwy. NW.
SAMS is a is a free, public STEM charter school that educates students in grades 6-12. It was founded in 2012. Students interested in aviation can earn their private pilot certificate and fly a plane in SAMS’ nationally recognized aeronautics program.
The new home for SAMS in Ventana Ranch is expected to be completed by early 2023.
