Summer Learning Adventure, a free 19-day outdoor-themed enrichment program, is back this summer for elementary school students in Albuquerque Public Schools.
SLA will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Th program starts June 13 and runs through July 14.
The kindergarten through second grade program will be NM Wild! It will explore literacy, math, science, social studies and the arts while emphasizing New Mexico plants, animals, habitats, aquatics and geology.
The theme for those in third through fifth grade is Making Connections: Be Super Arts Smart. It will feature visual and performing arts enrichment this summer. Students will work with fine arts teachers to explore their superpower of creativity.
There are 16 zones that are limited to 240 students. The Ventana Ranch Elementary School zone serves Sierra Vista, Seven Bar, Tierra Antigua and Coyote Willow.
Registration is open now and runs through April 29 or until a site reaches its 240-student cap.
