Students at Lyndon B. Johnson Middle School can now sign up to be a part of the Best Buddies Supporters for the 2022-23 school year.
Best Buddies is an international nonprofit organization that is “dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).”
The New Mexico chapter offers programs that build friendships between people with and without IDD, help secure jobs for people with IDD, and educate people with and without IDD to be leaders, public speakers and advocates.
LBJ Best Buddies Supporters can sign up now for the new school year. Past members have to re-register every year. The next BB family meeting will be Sept. 21. For more information on the LBJ Best Buddies, contact Mrs. Blowers in L-3.
