An officer with the Albuquerque Police Department was seriously injured in a crash Friday on the west side.
APD says the crash was caused by a drunken driver and the officer works as a DWI officer with APD.
Vaughn Stands, 28, is charged with DWI resulting in great bodily harm in the crash.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. at Irving Blvd. and Eagle Ranch Road. The officer was hospitalized with a broken leg, broken wrist and a neck injury.
