There was an unexpected twist of events Friday morning as about one-third of Eagle Ridge Middle School students were honored for their academic success. So many parents and supporters showed up the honor roll recognition ceremony had to be moved from the cafeteria to the gym. The year 2022 has been a very exciting one at the Neighborhood Journal. In March, the website went live with our soft launch. It was an exciting moment for us, and we got a lot of positive feedback. Sextortion are up significantly in New Mexico in 2022, the NM FBI said in a warning statement to parents and children. According to data released by the agency, there were 168 e-tips or calls about possible cases in the state reported to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center this year through Dec. 19; that’s compared to 38 for the same time period in 2021. Nearly 30 Albuquerque families are having a brighter holiday season thanks to Sunday’s 28th annual Cops for Kids event Sunday, Dec. 11. The Albuquerque Police Department made three arrests during an overnight surveillance operation Dec. 8-9. Northeast Area Command • Damarco Tomlin was arrested the evening of Dec. 8 for receiving/transferring stolen motor vehicles. Detectives with Auto Theft and Intel, with the assistance of air support, were conducting surveillance of an occupied stolen vehicle at a business along Paseo Del Norte. New details on an officer-involved shooting along Tramway Blvd. NE Nov. 5 emerged during a press conference Friday, Dec. 2. At 2:20 a.m. Nov. 2, officers from the Foothills Command Area responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the center median of Tramway just south of Menaul.
