    New business is booming! Check out the top 7 business stories of 2022 in northeast Albuquerque

    Several new businesses opened their doors in Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights over the last year despite setbacks from COVID-19 restrictions, rising inflation and supply chain disruptions. Business owners and entrepreneurs persevered through the struggles of the pandemic and finally opened their doors to customers in 2022. Here’s a look back at some of the top business stories in northeast Albuquerque over the last year:

    Recreational marijuana sales begin today

    Former Lobo breeding world class canines

    Frontline Elite Litters owner Daryl Chestnut with his dogs Brinks and Dream at North Domingo Baca Park May 30, 2022.

    Former University of New Mexico running back Daryl Chestnut was back in Albuquerque selling exotic French bulldogs and American bullies. He and his girlfriend Melba Johns were at North Domingo Baca Park on Memorial Day to show off two of their top-class French bulldogs, Brinks and Dream.

    Local business offers healing and honey

    Come for the candy, stay for the SIMRA at Amethyst Mind Body Synergy. 

    Amethyst is a locally owned healing and therapy business at 7050 Barstow St. across from the Cherry Hills Library. ReVassage therapist Velina Vassar and certified nutritionist and healer Michelle Croft explained what the business offers during a tour of the building.

    New Bosque Brewing Co. opens

    People living in the Northeast Heights have been waiting in anticipation for the Bosque Brewing Co. Heights Public House to open, and the day  finally arrived in 2022.

    Lindo Mexico finally opening

    After several delays due to supply chain issues and hurdles to obtaining a liquor license, the highly anticipated Lindo Mexico Grill and Seafood location at the Promenade finally opened Wednesday, Oct. 12. 

    Tula’s Kitchen, sister restaurant of Dion’s, opens for business

    The new restaurant located next to Dion’s in La Cueva Town Center opened its doors to customers in mid-October and announced its official opening Nov. 29.

    Detox the body and soothe the soul at The Salt Cave

    A salt room, infrared sauna, ionic foot detox and BEMER mat await customers looking for relaxation and improved health at the newly opened Salt Cave in Albuquerque’s far Northeast Heights.
