    Madison Middle activities wrap up school year

    School is almost out for summer. The following is a summary of Madison Middle School’s schedule for April and May. After-school clubs and activities will continue as planned, with soccer/futsal practice every Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15-4:30 p.m. until May 5. Track and field practice is every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15-4:40 p.m. through April 25.

    The middle of quarter four is April 19. A hybrid in-person/virtual Board of Education meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. April 20 at the John Milne Community Board Room. Madison’s Leadership Program archery team will be recognized for qualifying for nationals during the meeting. The meeting link and agenda can be accessed here.

    According to an April 17 principal’s message, progress reports will be available on ParentVue and StudentVue April 25. Also on April 25, an athletic open house will take place at the La Cueva High School Performing Arts Center and concourse. Any eighth-graders planning on attending La Cueva are invited. The last day of the 2021-22 school year is May 31.

    School Schedule
    April 19-22: Testing continues for all grades. Students will be taking the math test.
    April 25: Progress reports
    April 25-26: Testing days are extended so eighth graders can complete their science test on these days.
    April 26: Madison track and field will participate in a meet at Wilson Stadium from 4:30-7 p.m. A virtual parent meeting is schedule for 6 p.m. to discuss the possibility of extending Madison’s school year. Parents will have the opportunity to vote on keeping the school year as is or extending it. The link to the meeting is https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86355800552.
    April 27: Normal school schedule resumes. Tickets for the school dance go on sale.
    April 29: Madison neon glow dance, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tickets are $2 and include admission and a glow necklace. Tickets can be purchased after school April 27 in the North commons and at lunch in the school cafeteria April 28-29.
    May 12: Eighth grade field trip to watch the Albuquerque Isotopes take on the Sugar Land Space Cowboys at 11:05 a.m.
    May 19: Beginning, Concert, and Symphonic Band concert at Loma Del Rey Park. Jazz Band concert at Madison Middle School.
    May 18-24: Finals
    May 25: Eight grade celebration drive-thru and play day.
    May 31: Shortened, last day of school. Dismissal time will be 11:30 a.m.
