This do-it-together “pop-up” clinic gives people the opportunity to learn how to assess, disassemble and eventually repair their own broken stuff instead of sending them to the landfill while learning something new as well as reducing waste and reusing old items.
In person and digital fixit clinics have been popping up nationwide for the last few years and have had major turnouts with an abundance of people who want to learn to DIY repair their items instead of wasting money.
The event will provide specialty tools to troubleshoot guided disassembles, but it is suggested to bring basic tools such as Phillips and flat screwdrivers, needle-nose and regular pliers, flashlight, phone with internet access and a basic AC/DC voltmeter if electronic applicable.
Keep Albuquerque Beautiful and Fuse Makerspace have brought this free, all-ages event from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 13 at 101 Broadway Blvd. NE, but are still in need of experienced fixers and people with items in need of fixing.
