American Youth Soccer Organization Region 104 extended its registration deadline for the 2022-23 season to Aug. 7. Region 104 includes all areas east of the railroad tracks, with games and practices held at multiple locations on the east side of Albuquerque. Region 1447 includes areas west of the railroad tracks.
To register with Region 104, visit ayso.bluesombrero.com/region104 and click on the “Register Now” button. Players new to AYSO are required to upload proof of age using a birth certificate, military dependent ID or passport. Registration fees are as follows:
Core, ages 4-18: $125
VIP, youth and adults with special needs: $50
Playground, ages 3-4: $75
The VIP and Core program fees are for the fall and spring seasons. Playground fees are for either the fall or spring season only. Registration fees pay for a membership player ID card, an annual subscription to PLAYSOCCER Magazine, newsletters, soccer accident insurance, special offers and discounts, and access to the AYSO player website channel.
Uniforms are being sold separately this year through soccer.com and cost about $37 per player plus shipping. The $37 covers two different-colored jerseys, two pairs of socks and one pair of shorts. Cleats, shin guards and other soccer apparel can also be purchased on soccer.com.
Region 104 has served youth players in Albuquerque since 1978 and is the largest recreational youth soccer organization in the city, according to the AYSO 104 website. The organization relies on volunteer coaches, referees, team parents and other positions to run practices and officiate games. AYSO offers free training for volunteer coaches and referees with certifications that can transfer over to paid positions on club teams.
