Like practically everything else on the market, Albuquerque home prices continue to trend upward. The Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® market statistics for May shows the median price of a detached single-family home in the greater Albuquerque area was $340,500, a 17.4% increase from May 2021. The average sales price increased 20.8% from last year to $401,326. Last month, the median sales price was $335,000 and the average sales price $388,604, according to GAAR’s April 2022 report. Kickball is not just for kids. Adults can play, too, and for one Meetup group it’s a regular event where 30-40-year-olds can make new friends and get some exercise at the same time. La Cueva High School’s Las Ositas Dance Team is inviting all incoming eighth- and ninth-graders, as well as incoming transfer students, to join them for open practices beginning July 7. Practices will take place from 4-5 p.m. July 7, 14 and 21 in the LCHS cafeteria. The U.S. Postal Service is wrapping up its June 5-11 National Dog Bite Awareness Week campaign with informational pamphlets being sent to mailboxes. According to USPS, more than 5,400 postal employees were attacked by dogs in 2021, a decrease from the previous year thanks in part to the USPS campaign. According to a June 2 USPS press release, Albuquerque ranks 21 out of 32 cities for dog attacks on mail carriers.
