Students on winter break, gig workers looking for extra cash over the holidays and job hunters trying to get their foot in the door are in luck! Employers are looking to fill seasonal jobs at many locations throughout Albuquerque as demand ramps up and stores get busier this time of year.

The following are the top five picks for seasonal jobs in Albuquerque, many with locations in the far northeast and Northeast Heights:

    1. United Parcel Service

Hiring a seasonal personal vehicle package driver starting at $21 an hour plus mileage reimbursement at 62.5 cents. Package drivers should be able to lift, lower and carry packages up to 70 pounds, work eight hours a day Monday through Friday with some Saturday and holiday hours.

One UPS delivery driver gives the company five stars on Glass Door, saying the pros are, “Money, coworkers, location, money, money.”

    2. Target

The company is looking to fill multiple seasonal positions including overnight inbound stocking, seasonal specialty sales roles, seasonal service and engagement and seasonal general merchandise and food sales. Target is advertising the positions on Simply Hired with a starting wage of $15 an hour. Glass Door gives the Target overnight stocking job 3.5 stars out of five with 53% of reviewers saying they would recommend the job to a friend and 64% saying they approve of the CEO.

One five-star review is titled “Easy work” with the reviewer saying the pros are: “No customers to deal with. Busy through the whole shift. Call outs were not a problem.” The cons are: “Co workers are the worst to work with.”

    3. The North Face

The North Face needs a seasonal sales associate for its store in Uptown. There is no advertised wage on Simply Hired, but Glass Door says the average salary of a part-time sales associate is $33,796 a year. The job description says preferred candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and customer service experience.

One Dec. 1, 2022, five-star Glass Door review from a current employee says The North Face is a “Good company to work for,” and that the pros include, “Great quality gear, you learn a lot, and are constantly inspired/encouraged to explore the world.”

    4. Michael Kors ABQ Uptown

The company is advertising a seasonal sales assistant position starting at $15 an hour. Sales assistants will provide customer service, perform store tasks, support the management team and act as a fashion advisor while demonstrating product knowledge. Multiple shifts are being advertised, including four- and eight-hour shifts. The company receives a 3.8-star rating on Glass Door with 78% of reviewers approving of the CEO.

A former store manager gives the company a five-star rating, saying the pros include, “Employee discount, occasional Jimmy Choo and Versace staff only sales, easy to make a bonus as a store manager (only requirement was staying within payroll budget,) work life balance for store managers is unmatched. This company cares about its people.”

    5. Altar’d State

A seasonal brand rep position is being advertised for the company’s Uptown location. Altar’d State sells boho chic women’s clothing and accessories. The company offers a $16 an hour base pay, associate discounts, a 401K with company match, advancement opportunities, and free mental health and financial wellness support. The brand rep performs register transactions, assists in preparation of the store inventory and provides customer support, among other duties.

Altar’d State receives a 3.3-star rating on Glass Door with 61% of reviewers approving of the CEO and 51% saying they’d recommend the company to a friend. One five-star review from a current employee says, “This is the best company I have ever worked for” and that, “The pay is amazing.”
