Sobriety checkpoints will be up throughout Bernalillo County for the month of October.

Deputies from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting DWI-directed patrols in addition to checkpoints to look for people driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs in an effort to reduce the number of impaired driving-related crashes and fatalities.

The department also encourages citizens to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911 and to not drive if consuming alcohol. It also encourages the use of ride share services to avoid driving and driving.
