Rio Rancho police were looking for this vehicle Thursday after an officer involved shooting.

Early Thursday morning, a police officer was injured when a stolen vehicle rammed a police unit that had stopped the vehicle.

The Rio Rancho Police Department posted on Facebook that they were searching for a early 2000s, maroon Chevy Tahoe that fled the scene after the incident, which resulted in an officer involved shooting. The officer sustained a “non-life threatening injury.”

According to the post, RRPD officers stopped the stolen vehicle at 8:15 a.m. and attempted to detain the occupants before the shooting occurred. RRPD posted a picture of the vehicle on social media and wrote, “Rear window is blown out. Trash bag on right side. The suspects are outstanding and dangerous.”
