Albuquerque Academy is the top-ranked private high school in New Mexico for 2023, according to Niche, a website with more than 100 million ratings and reviews and 200,000 school, company and neighborhood profiles.

Niche ranks United World College USA in Montezuma as the second-best private school in New Mexico, followed by Santa Fe Preparatory School, Sandia Preparatory School and No. 5-ranked Menaul School.

Albuquerque Academy is ranked No. 140 out of 4,323 for best private high schools in America. Phillips Academy Andover, located in Andover, Massachusetts, is ranked No. 1.

Niche gives Academy an overall A+ and high grades in a variety of areas including:

  • An  A+ in academics, teachers, clubs and activities, and college prep.
  • An  A in diversity and sports.

Tuition and notable alumni

Tuition for the 2022-23 school year at Albuquerque Academy is $26,176. According to the school’s website, one in four Academy students receive some level of tuition assistance, with awards ranging from $200 to the full cost of tuition. The average tuition assistance award is $16,025.

The school’s website says, “Albuquerque Academy is a non-denominational, coeducational, independent day school serving 1,163 students in grades six through 12.” Students at the school are “world-class artists and athletes, scholars and explorers.”
