1. Trunk-or-Treat events:
Trunk-or-Treat at Grace Church from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30. Trunk-or-treat with s’mores, candy, games, face painting, bounce houses, food trucks and more. The event is free and for all ages at 6901 San Antonio Drive NE.
2. Pacific Rim food park Grand Opening from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30. There will be Asian dancers and performances, kids’ activities such as a bounce house, face painting, s’mores and food from resident food trucks. This event will coincide with the trunk-or-treat at Grace Church in the same parking lot.

5. Thrill the World 2022 comes to Ventana Ranch Park Saturday. The event is part of a national, charitable simultaneous Thriller dance. It is free to participate. The dancing horde of zombies across the nation is designed to raise awareness and money for Operation Underground Railroad to help save women and children from human trafficking. Check-in is at 2 p.m. with the dance beginning at 4 p.m. on the basketball court. Preregister with Eventbrite.
6. If you haven’t been on an Albucreepy Ghost Walk: Taverns & Tales yet, this weekend’s the perfect opportunity as Halloween approaches. The tour, starting at Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town, features three stops at Sawmill and Old Town area watering holes. Over 150 minutes and 1.6 miles, explore Albuquerque’s dark side, including historic and haunted sites. Guides will reveal vivid accounts of the city’s most popular ghosts and ghost stories as well as other strange mysteries along the way. Tours run from 7:30-10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday for $30.
7. What would happen if a nuclear reactor is damaged in an attack? Join Chris Perfetti of the University of New Mexico Nuclear Engineering Department as he discusses nuclear reactors and such a scenario as part of Science on Tap at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History Friday. Perfetti will be joined by Dr. Michael Hartshorne, an M.D. in nuclear medicine, who will discuss the health effects of radiation. Third speaker will focus on why the power plant is a key point of conflict, what Russian President Vladimir Putin is thinking and to what end he is likely to escalate the situation. The Science on Tap series of informal talks covers a wide range of science and technology topics, and Friday’s presentation runs from 6-8 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. It is a 21-plus event, and the $5 admission includes a beer ticket; additional drinks will be available for purchase.
8. New Mexico Truck Fest, featuring Los Farmerz, is coming to EXPO New Mexico Saturday. Doors open to the all-ages event at 11 a.m. Tickets range in price depending on the package, but children under 12 are admitted free.
9. Trunk or Treat at Balloon Fiesta Park takes place from 4-7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31. Costumes are encouraged, and candy will be available at different locations throughout the park.
