Restore CEO Jim Donnely and cofounder Steve Welch began their rehabilitative health business in 2015 after using cryotherapy to help recover from triathlon training. According to Restore’s website, the two opened their own cryotherapy clinic in Austin, Texas, to provide a fun and welcoming experience for clients. In 2017, they began expanding nationwide, and by 2021 opened more than 115 locations across the U.S. By 2024, Restore hopes to have more than 500 locations, including the two in New Mexico that are already open and providing services to clients.
Cryotherapy involves using sub-zero temperatures for recovery and well-being. According to Restore, cryotherapy can help optimize sleep, prevent aging, boost energy and targets pain and soreness for fast healing and recovery. One two-to-three-minute cryotherapy session costs $42 for non-members and $27 for members.
Infrared sauna, red light therapy and compression services costs members $27 for a single session, $79 for a three-pack, $128 for a five-pack and $243 for a 10-pack. Memberships costs between $99 and $299. Other services include NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) and IV drip therapy, intramuscular shots, mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy and facial and toning therapies. The various therapies promise to improve health and wellness in multiple ways, including boosting cognitive and athletic performance, reversing the signs of aging and replenishing vital nutrients.
