The Eldorado Eagles dominated in the first quarter, accruing 14 points in their first game of the season against the Cibola Cougars at Wilson stadium, but Cibola ultimately won 39-29. 

Fans were decked out in Texas orange and gold, and the Eagles did come out strong the first half , gaining another six points in the second quarter, while Cibola started with six points in the second half and managed to get another 19 points in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth quarter.
