On Monday, city councilors will vote on whether to approve the sale of up to $100 million in Gross Receipts Tax Improvement Revenue Bonds, to include $15 million to go toward the North Domingo Baca Aquatics Center. The proposal is sponsored by councilors Brook Bassan, Isaac Benton and Dan Lewis and includes amendments to the project list sponsored by Benton and Lewis. Community members fed up with shoplifters and other criminals in the Northeast Heights will be meeting with City Councilor Brook Bassan and an Albuquerque Police Department representative at 6 p.m. June 16 inside the North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center. The meeting was organized after a March 31 post on NextDoor complaining about shoplifters at the Whole Foods on Wyoming and Academy went viral. The New Mexico Department of Transportation is installing new signal heads at the intersection of Tramway and Paseo Del Norte, which began June 2. The update includes a traffic signal that will replace the yield sign on the eastbound right turning lane of Paseo Del Norte. A nmroads.com notice shows there will be a construction closure at NM 556 southbound and eastbound at mile marker 8. A week ago, the average price of regular unleaded was $4.27 a gallon; this week the average is $4.43.
