Driving on Tramway Boulevard, some may have noticed metal sculptures on the northeast corners of both Academy and Spain roads and may have wondered what they are or what they represent. The sculptures both face the city and are somewhat of a mystery, as there are no placards with info at their sites, and there is little information about them online. With spring on the way, gardeners are gearing up to start planting and seeding, but many do not realize people can get an assortment of free seeds provided by the Albuquerque Public Library Seed Bank. All one needs is a library card to pick from dozens of seeds — from vegetables to herbs and flowers. El Oso Grande, just adjacent to the CNM Montoya campus, has a variety of terrain, transitioning from foothill-like trails — with two gazebos offering views of the Sands at the peak — down to the playground, pollination habitat and park areas.
