The downward trend of cost per gallon of gas seems to continue, declining from $4.68 to $4.60 average in the 87111 zip code. Here are a some cheaper stations in the area this week: Sam’s and Costco at N. Renaissance NE are both at $4.25 per gallon but require memberships. Learning to play the ukulele can be fun, easy and free, courtesy of the Albuquerque Public Library Foundation. The program started in Hawaii in 2021 and has expanded is nationwide. Since the launch, libraries cannot keep up with demand for use. People can now report bad drivers on a portal provided by Albuquerque Police Department. The portal that went live Tuesday, June 28, targets road rage and aggressive driving, which have become overwhelming issues in Albuquerque with seven road rage related homicides last year. A person can capture the bad behavior and upload it to the police portal; if preferred, they can be sent anonymously. APD has been targeting street racing with such measures as installing speed cameras and has now created the Aggressive Driving Unit. The Explora STEM event delves into the earth with identifying and learning about different rock sediments. Using microscopes and magnification glasses called loupes, students will learn about types of rocks, geological features such as layers, that identify a rock’s life cycle and perform tests to reveal a mystery mineral. On Friday, June 24, the Supreme Court reversed Roe vs. Wade, leaving abortion rights decisions up to individual states and eliminating federal constitutional protections of abortion rights that have been in place for nearly 50 years.
