Duke City Beaches and IAFF Local 244 is teaming up for second annual Spike for Survivors sand volleyball tournament sponsored by Topgolf. All proceeds will go to Albuquerque Area Firefighters Survivor Fund. The organizers of this event will match all funds generated and donate that amount to the families of the four fallen first responders in this week’s helicopter crash. Lt. Deanne Otzenberger has officially taken over as the acting commander of the Northeast Command of the Albuquerque Police Department, effective July 16.   She was most recently the night watch commander for the Northeast Command from spring 2020 to spring 2022 and is aware of the challenges and successes of the area.
