The Albuquerque Public Schools board tabled a vote on any changes to the district agreement with the teachers union at Wednesday’s meeting after five months of negotiations. Project Feed the Hood is a food literacy and community gardening program that has made and maintained gardens in Albuquerque schools and food sovereign communities since 2012. Recently, all of its gardening tools, which have been accumulated over the last three years, were stolen. A majority of these tools were donated by the organizers and volunteers who have made this program with the Southwest Organizing Project thrive for the last decade. The 2022 New Mexico Games bring adult competitions in just about any sport one could think of with bowling, disc golf, archery, arm wrestling and more. This statewide sports competition started in 1989, and today more than 4,500 athletes participate in 20 Olympic-style games from May to November. The Rose Garden at Tony Hillerman Library has a rich history and has been meticulously maintained by the Albuquerque Rose Society, which has volunteered its services since its inception in 1962.
