The Spring Weekday Explorer Camp begins Tuesday at the Open Space Visitor Center.

The camp is for kids ages 6-10 and will be from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday.

The youth program will be outdoors, allowing kids to explore nature in the cottonwood forest, along the Rio Grande and in the native plant gardens.

The program will provide kids with hands-on science, literacy and art activities, with a different theme for each session. Each session is $30 per child.

Children should attend camp with a backpack, snack, water bottle, warm clothing and close-toed walking shoes.

The Open Space Visitor Center is located at 6500 Coors Blvd. NW.

For more information, contact Open Space Coordinator/Educator Ellie Althoff at 505-768-4955 or at ealthoff@cabq.gov.
