The Parent Involvement Organization at Volcano Vista High School is asking parents to volunteer to help with events throughout the school year.

Those events would include staff appreciation days, homecoming, prom and awards ceremonies. Parents can give as much or as little time as they want.

The PIO will be holding its first parent meeting at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in the library to discuss plans for the year.

VVHS also needs two parents to volunteer every other Thursday to attend its Instructional Council meetings. The IC group meets at the school, in person, at 2:30 p.m. every other Thursday. Parents can vote on policies or upcoming changes that affect staff and students. VVHS needs a ninth-grade parent representative and a 10th-grade parent representative who are able to commit to two hours a month every other Thursday.
PIO is also looking for either a treasurer or a president to be on the board committee. If you’re interested, email vvhspio@gail.com.
