Ever wanted to learn how to map the terrain around on hikes but didn’t know where to start?  A basic orienteering workshop, led by Jerry Boyd and designed as a three-hour tour, shows people how to navigate through a series of checkpoints with participants deciding the best route along the way.

This free event starts at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25. Participants should bring a compass, paper and pencil, water and sunscreen to the Elena Gallegos Open Space at 7100 Tramway Blvd. NE.

Although the event is free, space is limited; to register click here.
