Huitt-Zollars’ newest architectural renderings of the North Domingo Baca Aquatics Center were released and disseminated via email and social media Thursday afternoon.

In a group email, District 4 City Councilor Brook Bassan wrote, “Here are the latest in renderings for the North Domingo Baca Aquatic Center. Please remember that these are preliminary and NOT the final product, so some things may change.”

Bassan said a ground breaking will take place in the fall of next year and a ribbon cutting by the end of 2024 if the project stays on schedule. A new timeline for planning, bidding and construction of the aquatics center was released earlier this month.

“We still need approximately $8 million to cover the remaining ‘soft costs’ and inflation, but we are working on securing this as soon as possible. I will work to do just that and am excited with what we are seeing so far,” Bassan said.

The renderings were posted on the BUILD ABQ Aquatic Center @ Domingo Baca Park Facebook page on Thursday. John Adams Ingram, an administrator for the page, wrote, “Much thanks to Councilor Bassan for these – Latest architectural drawings of North Domingo Baca Aquatic Center.”
