Balanced Physical Therapy has added aquatic therapy with its newest location. The center opened a facility at 5528 Eubank Blvd. NE, which was previously occupied by Presbyterian, March 14.

Dr. Nikki Biller, clinic manager and doctor of physical therapy at Balanced Physical Therapy and Wellness Aquatic Center, said although the facility is up and running, the locally owned company wants to continue renovating the location. Plans for further updates include an outdoor turfed area for classes as well as updated locker rooms and treatment areas. The center also hopes to offer scheduled times for community members to be able to come and use the aquatic center starting in May.

Biller said the therapy center currently has three therapists who can take 12-14 patients during a day full day. Their patients come for a variety of issues and ailments.

The pool is kept between 92-95 degrees and is ADA compliant, allowing for patients to easily access the pool and be comfortable during treatment sessions.

Balanced Physical Therapy has been in business since 2015. It grew from a small two-person clinic to five facilities throughout Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. This is its first center with aquatic therapy available.

The owners of Balanced Physical Therapy, Jamel and Stacy Esch, are also both physical therapists and avid outdoorsmen who believe emphasizing compassionate and knowledgeable care to their patients is what has brought their business such great success.

At the new location, Biller explained the therapists and patients use paddle boards specifically for balance therapy, and hope to offer balancing classes soon.
