Natural Vistas Public Arts Collaboration

The Peppertree neighborhood has a unique Public Arts installment displayed not only in one area, but throughout the Peppertree community entrances and on their neighborhood signs. It was a collaboration between two different mediums with metal and ceramic tile Arts.

The piece commissioned in 2001 by the City of Albuquerque Publics Arts program named Natural Vistas, By Metals Artist, John Bell and Ceramicist, Margy O’Brien.

The collaboration features tile work of a mountain desert view, much like the one seen from the Peppertree Neighborhood, and the metal works feature local plant and wildlife with Geckos, eagles, native cacti.

O’Brian not only does ceramic arts but thrives through an array of artistic mixed media, including what she calls Artist’s Books which look like elaborately made greeting cards.
