Children are learning how to build rocket ships at the Jewish Community Center Spring Camp this week. Hunter and Linnea Haughton are in the final stages of assembling their rockets and will launch them Wednesday morning.

Bill Weber, with the Aviation and Education Foundation, volunteered his time putting together the rocket kits for campers to assemble. About a dozen kids get to learn about the math and force involved in what it takes for these kits to get anywhere from 575 to 1,000 feet up and back down, depending on the power supplied, Weber said.
Although the JCC upcoming summer camp is already full, there are few slots left in programs such as the sports and activities session or their one-day intensive horseback riding on June 10 and July 29.
