The Marilyn Sepulveda Meet of Champions took place Monday, and some Volcano Vista athletes had some solid showings.

The Sepulveda meet is one of the premier track and field meets in New Mexico. The all-star meet features athletes from all classes competing against each other.

Some of the top Volcano Vista performances were:

  • Senior Bridger Schapp finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.02
  • Senior Kaden Valdez was seventh in the same event at 52.32.
  • Sophomore Dallan Reed was seventh in the 800-meter run at 2:07.73
  • Junior Thomas Crshaw finished fifth in the 3,200-meter run at 10:08.81
  • Junior Mason Lovato was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles at 17.30
  • Senior Daniel Campos was third in the discus with a throw of 139-02
  • Campos won the shot put with a distance of 49-07
  • Senior Angela Korte was second in the girls 400-meter dash with a time of 59:10
  • Junior Mariana Marquez was sixth in the same event at 1:01.50
  • Junior Liliana Sanchez was third in the 800-meter at 2:26.16
  • Freshman Carysa Marquez was second in the 3,200-meter run at 11:56.66
  • Junior Kaitlyn Russell finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.87
  • Senior Jaelyn Bates was second in the 300-meter hurdles at 46.28
  • Russell was sixth in the same event with a time of 49.73
  • Senior Gabriella Radigan-Hindi was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles at 51.08
