Funerals for the four Bernalillo County first responders killed in a helicopter crash July 16 have been scheduled.

Three of the four funerals will be held at The Pit, 1111 University Ave. SE. Lt. Fred Beers will be honored at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27; Undersheriff Larry Korea at 10 a.m. Friday, July 29; and Deputy Michael Levison at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3. Rescue Specialist Matthew King’s funeral is set for 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Tingley Coliseum, 300 San Pedro NE.

The four were killed in a crash near Las Vegas, while on their return trip to Albuquerque, after assisting with a wildfire. They had spent the day providing bucket drops and other air logistics needs to assist fire crews on the ground. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
