While many will enjoy fireworks and celebrate America’s Independence Day at Balloon Fiesta Park Monday, there is another option for residents in northwest Albuquerque.

A Fourth of July celebration will take place at Campus Park in City Center in Rio Rancho from 5-9:45 p.m. Monday. There will be live music, food trucks, a beer garden, a parade and, of course, fireworks.

The event is free and open to the public and will feature a performance by the Rio Grande Symphonic Band and the New Mexico Philharmonic.

The parade and the performance by the Symphonic Band will begin at 6 p.m. with the Philharmonic taking the stage at 8.

There is plenty of parking with multiple lots around City Center. Visitors can park and tailgate as they enjoy the fireworks.
