Albuquerque Fire Rescue made quick work of a commercial structure fire around 4 a.m. Sunday.

According to a report from the Albuquerque Fire Marshal Office obtained by the Neighborhood Journal, firefighters responded to calls of a fire on the roof of a single-story strip mall located at 3613 NM 528 NW. AFR Ladder 21 confirmed the fire and aggressively attacked the fire on the roof  to contain it to just the one building, which is surrounded on both sides by businesses.

Thirteen trucks and 35 firefighters were deployed and put the fire out within minutes of arrival, preventing the fire from spreading to six other occupancies in close proximity.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is currently under investigation. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
