Tis the season for hues of red and green chiles roasting and wafting through the Burque air, and what most people love and look forward to each fall in New Mexico. And with that in mind, the Farmer’s Chile Market is now underway until the end of October. Specialty medium chiles from Big Jim’s and Miss Junie hot chiles are available for $40 a bundle or $25 for half bundles.

The market has three roasters on hand. Additional products, such as Ristras, red chile powders from mild to extra hot, assorted dried posole varieties, beans and large sacs of dried red Chile pods are also available. If folks don’t want to go all out with a large roasted bag of green Chile, the market does offer small pre-bagged medium and hot for $8 a bag.

Fresh-roasted Hatch red will be offered from early to mid-September, and the market also offers to roast Chile brought to the site in quantities of 25 pounds or more.

The location at 2010 Eubank Blvd NE, just south of Snow Heights Blvd. NE, is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
