Visit Albuquerque has launched a free, mobile-exclusive digital pass called the ABQ Passport that give residents and tourists a guide to explore all of the city’s neighborhoods. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Balloon Fiesta, people can now discover nearly 200 local businesses through Oct. 15.

Passholders who check in at one or more locations in at least five different neighborhoods will be entered to win an Albuquerque prize package.

When signing up at the link here, participants will then receive texts or emails regarding the program. To redeem, people can check in using GPS to record a visit toward earning prizes.

Everything from the Breaking Bad RV and Old Town ghost tours to art galleries, museums, escape rooms and a plethora of breweries and restaurants throughout Albuquerque are participating.

As an added bonus, Visit Albuquerque has teamed up with the New Mexico Tourism Department to provide commemorative New Mexico True pins celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. The first 2,000 participants who stop by the Visit Albuquerque Visitor Center in Historic Old Town, 522 Romero St. SW, and mention the ABQ Passport or bring up the webpage on their phone will receive a commemorative pin.

“We love working with our destination partners on projects that encourage guests to discover more during their visit to New Mexico,” said Jen Paul Schroer, cabinet secretary of the New Mexico Tourism Department. “This activation is a great opportunity to inspire more travel while celebrating the 50th anniversary of our state’s biggest annual event.”

Visit Albuquerque is an accredited destination marketing organization and a private with a not-for-profit status. Its mission is to stimulate economic growth by marketing Albuquerque as a convention, sports and visitor destination.

“We are thrilled to launch the ABQ Passport to encourage exploration during this truly special time in our city,” said Tania Armenta, CEO and president of Visit Albuquerque. “Visit Albuquerque hopes with this passport, more visitors and residents will support the businesses that make Albuquerque the unique, diverse place it is.”
