Tony Hillerman Middle School will host a community meeting on April 27 to discuss the Extended Learning Time Program.

Families from Volcano Vista, Tony Hillerman, Tierra Antigua and Ventana Ranch Elementary will be asked to vote on keeping the traditional school schedule or the ELTP calendar.

The meeting will be held in the Tony Hillerman gym and will begin at 4 p.m. Parking will be available at Tony Hillerman, Volcano Vista and the APS Soccer Complex.

The Extended Learning Time Program is a strategy intended to increase the time students in grades K-12 are learning.

The program, funded by the state, would add 10 full days to the school year.
