If you’re a traditional student in high school hoping to further your education or a returning student looking to get back to school, there’s a nice option in the neighborhood.

Central New Mexico Community College has five campuses in New Mexico.

The Westside Campus, built in 2003, sits on 109 acres in Ventana Ranch and has more than 3,000 students enrolled. It has 49 classrooms, including five science labs and five computer labs. The campus offers classes in more than 20 different disciplines and offers an art studio, a nursing/phlebotomy lab, and a pharmacy studies lab.

CNM Westside offers programs in business, mathematics, communications, humanities, computer technology, pharmaceutical technology, phlebotomy, and visual arts. The Westside campus aims to help students pursue careers in teaching, medical fields and technology.

The campus received an award in 2004 from the Association of General Contractors and New Mexico Business Journal due to its unique architectural style.

The campus offers onsite services for students for admissions, advisement, testing, registration, tutoring, library services, food court, open computer lab and a learning center.

CNM has many of the same courses as a four-year school but at a much lower cost.

For New Mexico residents at CNM, 1-11 credit hours will cost $57 per credit hour, 12-18 hours is a flat $684 and 18 or more is $684 plus + $57 per hour.

At the University of New Mexico, estimated tuition for an academic year is $9,228.
