Boca Negra Canyon, a unit within the Petroglyph National Monument, offers three walking trails that offer views of more than 1,000 petroglyphs.

The self-guided trails (Mesa Point, Macaw and Cliff Base) vary in difficulty, with Mesa Point being the most strenuous. Combined walking time of all three trails, which offer diverse views of the natural landscape, is just over an hour.

The canyon is a 70-acre part of the 7,236 acres within the monument boundaries.

The canyon is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the last entry being allowed at 4 p.m.

There is a $2 parking fee on weekends and $1 on weekdays.
