The Albuquerque Police Department Memorial Xeriscape Garden at Osuna Road NE and Wyoming Blvd. is more than just a garden as it memorializes local fallen officers throughout the years.

Just east of the John Arthur Carillo Northeast Heights Community Police Substation is the entrance to the garden, where a stone monument to fallen APD officers sits.

Installed in 1991 by artist Bill Worthen, the granite memorial is part of the city of Albuquerque Public Arts program.

The entrance memorial is dedicated to APD officers who lost their lives while in service to the city.

The xeriscape garden sits on one acre of public land, featuring covered sitting areas and paved pathways packed with labeled native plants.

Past the memorial at the entrance lies a tower monument, which is the Public Safety Memorial honoring lawmen who have fallen in the line of duty as far back as 1868, beginning with Constable Manuel Garcia Y Griego.

The garden is free and always open to the public.
