Wednesday marks the beginning of Animal Humane New Mexico’s 2022 Feline Fiesta. Its the third annual event designed to raise money for homeless and at-risk cats and dogs in the state.

There are several cat-themed events scheduled for the week that you can participate in and have some fun while helping the animals.

Bids for a silent auction are being accepted online now through 5 p.m. Sunday.

Submissions are closed for Animal Humane’s “Next Top Meow-del,” but voting begins on Friday and runs through Sunday on Facebook.

Cat coloring sheets will go out to anyone who makes a donation of $5 or more Wednesday only. The printable sheets were created just for Feline Fiesta 2022.

Thursday’s event is called “Let Go, Meow!” Anyone who makes a donation of $5 or more will be invited to anonymously submit a feeling, thought or experience they want to let go. All submissions will be written on cat scratching pads and the cats will help you let go by scratching away at your submission. There will be a live stream of “Let Go, Meow!” Friday.

One of the more popular events of past Feline Fiestas is back again this year. Kitten Yoga is scheduled for from 9-10 a.m. Saturday.

YogaZo instructor Valerie will lead a one-of-a-kind class with kittens being the guests of honor. All proceeds will go directly to AHNM. The class size is limited to 20 people. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.
