One person and the suspect are dead after a shootout at about 4 p.m. Monday east of Tramway on Montgomery. Two police officers were also injured in the incident.

According to ABQ RAW, the shooter was also armed with an axe and machete when shots from a shotgun had been fired from a nearby home.

One victim was killed at the scene, as well as the suspect after a shootout with police.

According to KOB news, the suspect went on a shooting spree, injuring three people and killing the one victim.

APD Chief Harold Medina said both officers who were injured were in good spirits and should heal from their wounds.

Mayor Tim Keller said this is yet another incident that should make every level of government focused on finding a solution to gun violence.

There is no apparent motive at this time.
