The Albuquerque Street Maintenance Department recently conducted a dry run of all operations and procedures planned for inclement winter weather.

When inclement winter weather does occur, the division dispatches as many as 39 two-man crews to plow, salt and cinder Albuquerque’s roadways. The dry run provides the opportunity to ensure all systems are functioning properly ahead of any winter weather.

“Inclement winter weather always presents a unique set of challenges for the Street Maintenance Division,” said Patrick Montoya, director of the Department of Municipal Development. “It’s essential that we continue our preparation and preparedness throughout the year so that when that inclement weather hits, we’ll be ready to clear the streets and make them safe for all road users.”
