As the weather warms in Albuquerque, it means it’s time to spend a day in the park.

Luckily for residents of Ventana Ranch West, there’s two very good options if you’re looking to spend a little time in the sunshine.

Ventana West Park, a 4.25 acre public recreation area, offers several entertaining options for your day at the park.

A large children’s playground is the centerpiece of the park, built for ages 5-12.

There’s also a smaller playground set for the littler kids and a climbing wall.

Ventana West has two half-court basketball courts, with rims standing back-to-back in the middle of the concrete court.

There’s a scarcity of trees, but the park offers plenty of shaded seating areas.

The highlight of Ventana West Park, though, is the large grassy area that is perfect for football, soccer or flying a kite.

Ventana West Park is located at 10327 Avenida Vista Cerros NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114 and is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Less than a half mile away from Ventana West Park sits Tuscarora Park.

Tuscarora Park is 2.10 acre public park that features similar amenities as Ventana West.

There’s a larger children’s playground and a smaller one.

Tuscarora has one basketball hoop and a large, but not as large as Ventana West’s, grassy area.

Tuscarora Park is located at 10409 Tall Rock Ct. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114 and is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
