1.AL’BURRR’QUERQUE Polar Bear Plunge
Take the plunge into the 40-degree waters of Sierra Vista Pool Saturday. If you’re a daredevil, take a dive into the deep end. The rest of us will head to one of the fun slides to make our entrance. This fundraising event benefits the Shanta Strong Swim Fund, providing swim lessons scholarships to local children. Door open at 10 a.m.; parking is in the main parking lot right off Montano Road. Enter through the main doors and check in with the front desk. Day-of registrations will accepted. Hot cocoa and other snacks will be provided following the plunge. 2. Bosque Wild Guided Hike
From 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 8, Parks and Recreation will be hosting a guided hike with the Bosque Wild and Trail Watch Volunteer Stewards. This is a free event. Bring water, wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Pets are not allowed. Visitors will meet in the lobby of the Open Space Visitor Center at the end of Bosque Meadows Road between Montaño and Paseo del Norte.

3. Three Kings Celebration: Leadership and Sovereignty Presentation
In preparation for the journey of a new year, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is celebrating the Three Kings along with the recognition of newly elected honorable officials. On Friday, Jan. 6, IPCC Cultural Educator Jon Ghahate (Laguna, Zuni) will be giving presentations at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. during museum tours; in addition, he will do a presentation via Zoom at 4 p.m.
These presentations are free for museum members or admission is $12 for adults.

4. Yucca Art Gallery featured artists for January 2023
Presented by the Yucca Art Gallery in Old Town, come explore the work of January’s new artists: Liz Roberts, pottery; Ava Peets, oils; and Liz Huffman,jewelry. Admission is free for the event that runs 5-8 p.m. Friday.

5. Zane Lamprey | Ski Patrol Comedy Tour
Coming to the Boxing Bear Brewing Company at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8, Zane Lamprey is known as the guy who gets paid to travel the world and drink. Lamprey is a hilarious host of his award-winning TV show, “Three Sheets and Drinking Made Easy!” This will be a night for comedy and delicious craft beer. Strictly 21-plus. Tickets are $24-$40.
