Head to ABQ BioPark
The Albuquerque BioPark offers multiple attractions for children of all ages. Seasonal activities and events are constantly being added, and the park features three highly rated attractions for the kids. Admission is $10 for adults (New Mexico residents) — $14.50 for non-residents — $5 for New Mexico residents ages 3-12 years old ($6 for non-residents), and those age 2 and under are free along with members. This 36-acre botanical garden provides a welcome oasis for the whole family. With year-round seasonal adventures, there is always plenty to do; check out its events page. During winter break, bundle up the kids and let them explore pathways in nature.

Riverside spot with animals and a train is the perfect amusement for kids on a sunny, winter day. Its 64 acres include an African exhibit, an Australian exhibit, the “Cat Walk” and a herpetology area.

Animals include multiple species of fish, sharks, turtles and coral along with cownose rays, jellies and the North American River Otter. There are multiple exhibits at the aquarium.

Casa Flamenca
Beginner and advanced lessons are taught at Casa Flamenca, which is open to youth and adults alike. Beginner classes teach students basic flamenco techniques and rhythms. They are held 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday. Classes are $100 for four sessions or $30 for drop-in. Membership discounts are also available. Children love the colorful performances as much as they enjoy these fun classes. Casa Flamenca’s mission is community-minded where anyone can enjoy and learn the art of Flamenca dancing.

Cool Springs
This fun indoor family activity center offers multiple attractions to help the kids get out their energy. With trampolines and laser tag, plus dodgeball and climbing walls there is lots to do at Cool Springs! Tickets are $18.25 per hour for kids over 48 inches tall and $12.75 for kids under 48 inches. Waivers and tickets can be taken care of in advance.

Explora Science Center and Children’s Museum


With 250 interactive exhibits and activities in science, technology, engineering, art and math, Explore is easily an all-day experience for families. Explora offers interactive and engaging fun in the heart of Old Town. Adult admission is $10 (12-64 years old), children $6 (ages 1-11) $6, and those under 1 are free. Toddler time is 9-10 a.m. Mondays. The venue is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kimo Theater
Ideal for older children, this historic landmark on Route 66 offers a fun, vintage experience for the whole family. The beautiful theater regularly hosts quality entertainment in downtown Albuquerque. An assortment of concerts, plays, ballets, art discussions, movie screenings and more can be found at Kimo. Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm
Dining, lodging, spas, a lavender farm, organic and farm goods, tea room parties and yoga. If you’re looking something off the beaten path, Los Poblanos is it. Hailed by guests as one of the most magnificent historic properties in the southwest, the inn was designed in 1932 by John Gaw Meem, a famous architect known as the “Father of Santa Fe Style.” This farm offers a magical beauty the whole family can appreciate.
